SELAH means Pause & Listen

SELAH is a German-American rapper and songwriter based in Augsburg, Germany. His English-language music sits between introspective hip-hop, lo-fi warmth, indie textures and a jazz-influenced atmosphere.

He began making music at the age of six and first performed under the name Josh Villain before becoming SELAH — a name that means “Pause & Listen.” That idea defines both his music and his approach as an artist: he writes from real experience, personal growth and the moments that usually get lost in everyday noise.

Alongside producer Creatis he released the twelve-track album SELAH. in 2025 and has carried its story forward through a steady run of singles and collaborations. He performs as a solo rapper with a DJ and backing tracks, and is building an independent artist world around recorded music, visual storytelling and live performance — aiming for genuine connection rather than empty hype.
